Care and support for Carers

Carer Support and In-Home Respite
Carers sometimes need support to keep on caring. Carer support helps you rest and recover in order for you to find the balance between caring for others and caring for yourself. Respite services can help you care for longer - it is a chance for you to take a break from daily routines, and also gives the person you care for social interaction with someone different.

You can arrange for regular respite, for example one day per month, or for a short period, for example if you or another family member are ill. Respite could be for a few hours or several days. No matter your needs we will do what we can to support you. Contact us for more information.

The Caring Circle

Northern Rivers Care Connections hosts The Caring Circle, a non-denominational group of skilled volunteers which provides support to ill, dying, and frail aged people. This free service works alongside other palliative care services to provide comprehensive and confidential support to individuals.

The Caring Circle is a compassionate listening ear for individuals or families. Our well trained volunteers are able to assist carers and families at home, in hospital, or in our rooms located in the Kyogle CBD.

Working with the changing needs of the client and their family The Caring Circle provides support and assistance through all stages of an illness as well as on-going grief support. We can also arrange for carers to take some time-out, caring for your loved one in our rooms while you go shopping or attend appointments.
